The best man speech requires a delicate balance of humor and sentiment. You want to touch everyone's heart, but you'd probably also like to tickle their funny bone once or twice.  

So it's a tough act. Here are some tips that will help make your best man speech a success.

First, don't try to go it alone. There are dozens of books and resources available on the Internet to help you find material and inspiration for your best man speech. You can get one-liners, stories, anecdotes, quotes, poems and toasts.  You can even find people you can hire to write the whole best man speech for you. 

Write down what you plan to say and practice your best man speech out loud.

When it comes time to deliver your best man speech, introduce yourself to the guests. Keep in mind, not everyone in the audience will know who you are.
