Maid of Honor Wedding Speech
Bad Wedding Speech Examples

Much of the maid of honor's responsibility as part of the wedding party take place behind the scenes before the
actual wedding ceremony.
Until it comes time for the maid of honor's speech or wedding toast, that is. This is where the maid of honor
has a chance to make the day even more memorable for the bride and groom by delivering a touching and heartfelt
maid of honor speech.
Of all the maid of honor's duties, this one may be the toughest one to pull off. So here are some tips that will
make your maid of honor speech successful--and as stress-free as possible.
Introduce Yourself Be sure to give your name, how long you have known the bride, and what your relation
is to her. Many of the people attending the wedding won't know you. This is especially true of the groom's family
and friends.
Share Some History This is where a warm personal story works beautifully.
Use Humor Carefully Make sure you don't embarrass the bride or make her uncomfortable in any way. Avoid
jokes--they often fall flat. But a story with a humorous twist or a few tasteful one-liners will help everyone have
a good time.
Wish the Couple Well Be sure to say that you and everyone in attendance hopes their future will be
bright and that they'll have the best of everything.
Keep It Short 2-3 minutes is more than enough to say everything that needs to be said. Remember,
there's often more than one speech or toast given at most weddings these days. The time adds up, and worse, people
will start getting restless.
